あるNLP(ニューロリングスティックプログラムというカウンセリング手法のひとつ)の本を読んでいたら、素晴らしいフレーズがあった。
久々に一部英語で紹介するので、中学生は訳すように。
There's no such thing as failure, only feedback.
失敗ばかりしている友人にある人が聞いた。
「どうしてそんなに沢山上手くいかないことだらけなのに落ち込まないの？」
すると彼は
"Oh,when something doesn't work,I just realize that it's a solution to a different problem."と答えた。
さらに本は
Every behavior is useful in some context.When you program in a new behavior and it doesn't work well,that's just an indication that you need to try something different in that context.
Every time you try something that doesn't work,that gives you good information about what else might work.と解説し最後にこう結ばれています。
As someone once said,"Good judgment comes from experience.Experience comes from poor judgment."
試合の負けがこんだ時、昇段審査が上手くいかなかった時、仕事が思った通りに進まない時、気持ちがネガティブになった時
思いだしたい一節です。
